Sex In The Seventies: 15-Film Grindhouse
From the early 1960s right up to the death-blow wielded by The Meese Commission, anything went on 42nd Street in New York City. Porno guys got cheap multi-year leases on most of " The Deuce" and surrounding blocks. Formerly unrentable retail stores became "storefront theaters." A plywood partition was built to house the projector, the back wall was painted white or a sheet hung up, a few dozen folding chairs were lined up, and the windows were blacked out. Usually a window had something on it to entice you in - a painted silhouette of a naked woman or a glaring cheap sign, framed out in yellow light bulbs, proclaiming "XXX Movies." Now, After Hours Cinema and yours truly, 42P, are going to give you the storefront theater viewing experience. But we can only show you this gonad-bursting collection of classic films, painfully restored from their original grimy elements.Collecting 15 grindhouse features including Spaced Out, starring Suzanne Fields (Flesh Gordon).
This 3-Disc showcase of vintage store-front features from After Hours Cinema and grindhouse celebrity 42nd Street Pete includes the ultra-rare Spaced Out starring stunning Suzanne Fields (Flesh Gordon), an overview of this lost era by grindhouse personality 42nd Street Pete, a full-color liner notes booklet as well as trailers for After Hours Cinema's vintage adult releases. Neon 'XXX Movies' and naked woman silhouette not included.
